Four fab things for Monday

1) Mamma mia, I couldn’t resist these disco-ball inspired flip-flops! (Oooh, shiny objects…) Macy’s was having a big sale this weekend, though, so I got them for a song. “How many pairs of flip-flops does a girl really need?” Silly question, mi amore.

2)  Although I”ve got plans that prevent me staying for the entire SCBWI-LA conference, some LJ friends are meeting up with me on Thursday for an early dinner/appetizers/drinks. The more the merrier…Please let me know if you can join us!

3) I’m headed to the gym for a stint on the Precor, and then I’ll be grabbing another Fast Pass ticket for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride. Oh, and John Wayne Airport (see #4).

Two months to the day after our kitchen remodel was completed,, I’ve only used the oven twice. For reheating pre-made meals. “Tsk, Tsk — Such a waste of top-grade appliances!” That’s what you’re thinking, right? Well, I’ve cooked up a remedy for the situation. My friend Karen, who’s got mad cooking skilz, is flying in tonight. I’m all about culinary inspiration, a decent home-cooked meal, however I can get it.

So…what’s cookin’ with all of you?

  1. Oh, I hope you have a great time with friends at SCBWI-LA…man, I wish I could be there. I’ll be with you in spirit, though 🙂

(Take your new sandals, I say!)

      • A girl can never have enough flip flops!

I can’t wait to see Mamma Mia. I saw the play with a bunch of teacher friends when it was showing in LA. We all got up and danced. It was so much fun!

Maybe we can meet when school starts again? You and Cathy at that yummy place in Tustin. I’d love to meet you!

        • I wish I could go, too. You may get to meet my agent before I ever do. Hope you have a great time, and please keep a place at the “in-spirit” table for me, too. 🙂

          • Maybe I should corner your agent in the ladies’ room, tell her I’m your friend, and ask if she wants to read my manuscript (which I’d “just happen” to have on hand). Hee hee. (Don’t panic: I’m just kidding!)

Seriously, we’ll definitely save a place at the table for you!

  2. Thai butternut squash bisque, to be specific. ^_^

I’ll take a seat at that in-spirit table, too. I wish I could go to a conference and hang out with some of all you lovely people! But maybe next year.

    • Oh my gosh, that sounds delicious! You can come cook for me…er, stay at my house ANYTIME! 🙂

Definitely, we’ll save an in-spirit seat for you this year. Next year, we’ll get to hug/sit with you in person.
